Dean Newton
West Sedona
928.282.7491

Shorty Newton started his rock and dirt yard back in the 1940’s. His son Dean carries on the family tradition with red rock gravel, fill dirt, and red rocks of every size. He’s a hard-working man and a gentleman in every meaning of the word. He carries multi-sized red rock for stone walls, gardening, and landscape design as well as a huge assortment of red rock boulders for the perfect landscape accent. I’ve been a long-time customer of Shorty and Dean for many years, buying boulders for my yardscapes and flat red rocks for my dry-stack, Chaco-style walls. Dean’s rock yard is in West Sedona a block south of Highway 89A. You can fulfill your rock needs at his yard or he’ll deliver to just about any location in the Verde Valley. A large portion of the rock you see in Sedona’s artistic stone walls and red rock landscapes, both commercial and residential, have Dean as their source. Tell him I sent you.

Hidden Valley Stoneyard
Page Springs
928.634.4035

Another crew of easy-going folks to work with. How is it that so many people in the rock and stone business have such pleasant attitudes? Tom Allen moved to Page Springs in 1946 before electricity arrived and started mining flagstone at several claims on nearby Casner Mountain, not far from Honanki’s famous ancient ruins. Over the years his stoneyard has grown into a rock collection unexcelled in Northern Arizona. Azurite boulders from the Little Daisy Mine in Jerome, rare Watermelon flagstone from M.C. Canyon along the Mogollon Rim below Williams, and saw-cut, gorgeous, deep red sandstone slabs from Drake, Arizona blanket his massive stoneyard. There are decorative rocks of every variety here as well, a landscaper’s dream. Check out the quartz boulders and iron pyrite chunks as you wander through this splendid example of geology for sale.
