The Ringing Rocks Foundation opened its center in Sedona on the 10th of September, 2005. Their mission is “to explore the world in search of indigenous cultures whose healing practices, cultural wisdom, and spiritual traditions are in danger of being lost forever due to the inevitable encroachment of industrialization, tourism, politics, and Westernization”. Founded by Nancy Connor, the scope of the foundation’s projects are comprehensive in both breadth and depth. Lithuanian Folk Medicine, Reindeer Shamans of the Dine, Inuit, and Sami, Lakota Medicine teachings, Xam Bushman language and beliefs, traditional African art and culture, restoration of important Jewish mysticism manuscripts, the art of Dine sand painting, and a digital archive of audio and visual recordings of Namibia bushman elders represent just a few! The foundation’s work on global healing and wisdom traditions has been funded almost completely by generous individual contributions.

Originally Torkom Saraydarian’s temple, teaching place, and retreat, the Creative Life Center now hosts the perfect Sedona environment for events encompassing personal growth, metaphysics, spirituality, ancient wisdom, consciousness, health, and well-being. Torkom authored over 170 spiritual books and was a gifted teacher, writer, lecturer, and composer of sacred music. He was truly a man of heart. After his death, his family sold the property to Shirley Caris. Shirley took the original buildings and property, expanded upon them, and created this unique center as a place for “programs that enrich the human heart and soul”.

Over the years I have had the pleasure of experiencing a number of events here. It is a fantastic environment for workshops, weddings, talks, and other special events. Visiting Yogis, Gurus, and wisdom speakers have packed the center with interested locals and visitors. Don Miguel Ruiz, Toltec Master and author of The Four Agreements, a book that I consider to be one of the most important and effective ever written, hosted a two-day workshop at the center 4 years ago that was attended by several hundred people from around the world. I was fortunate to be one of them. The Creative Life Center was the perfect venue for experiencing Don Miguel’s heart teachings. Call ahead if you want to make a casual visit and discover one of Sedona’s finest “New Sacred places”.
