Stephen and I go way back. He owned one of the very first photo finishing shops in town (not counting Rollie’s, of course) and provided Jeep guides like myself with quality photo developing. Over the years he branched out and got into video, documentaries, and TV production. His photography landscape stills are some of the finest around.

Tom Johnson – Photographer

Tom and family moved to Sedona from Scottsdale and created the successful magazine “Sedona Magazine”. For years he has been one of the magazine’s primary photographers initially with his old friend Dave Tate. We’ve all been on a few shoots together mostly for Pink Jeep Tours print ads. Tom specializes in large format photography. Many of the photos you see in their brochure or on the side of their Sedona passenger shuttle were Tom’s work. Tom loves the outdoors and hikes many miles into remote parts of Arizona for his brilliant photos that appear in several magazines and books. Check out his beautiful collection of Sedona landscape photos in his book, Sedona-the most uniquely beautiful site on Earth.

Southwest Photography Gallery – Lou de Serio
Uptown

www.SWPhotoGallery.com

Lou is a master’s master photographer. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing him for over 20 years and have seen his work progress and transform. One of his early photography inspirations and mentors, Ansel Adams, wrote a nice cover note for Lou’s 1979 photo essay book on Nevada ghost towns, A Last Look. In addition to his photographic talents, Lou is a master pianist. A deep love of nature infuses his work and graces the viewer with a type of outdoor poetry, perhaps even a song of timeless sight. His store is Uptown across from Pink Jeep Tours so stop by and say hi from Jim. You can thank me later.

Theo provides "artistry with dynamic versatility". A good friend of mine who owns and operates a Sedona outdoor tour business chose Theo for all of his promotional photos: his business brochure, online ad photos, and magazine article shots are all top quality because of Theo's expertise and care.

Trails Traveled Photography - Mike and Cyndie Koopsen
928.284.4384

Mike and Cyndie have been photographing the West and especially Sedona for many years. Mike worked as a Jeep tour guide and spends a lot of hours in nature. I’m sure his eye for detail comes from being in the landscape constantly and seeing those angles and views that most people miss. I had a similar experience as a Jeep tour guide and amateur photographer. Some of their photos grace these pages. Thanks Mike and Cyndie!

Dennis Young - Photographer
Sedona by Starlight

www.sedonastarlight.com

Astro-scenic photography by Dennis Young, astronomer and astro-photographer. He specializes in night images using time exposures. His photos of the Hale-Bopp comet over Sedona's well-known formations (Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Courthouse Butte) are particularly famous and have been featured ìn Smithsonian magazine and other national publications. For groups he provides a great nighttime presentation complete with telescopes, info, and narration. Sir Percival Lowell built his observatory in Flagstaff in 1896. Higher elevations in Arizona like Sedona are known for clear night skies and low humidity. Viewing planets up close and personal with Dennis is a treat you'll always remember. Keep track of expected meteor showers, time your visit in Sedona to coincide, and give Dennis a call to arrange your own private show.

Ian Whitehead Photography

info@ian-whitehead.com

"For me, photography is both a journey and an experience where light, land, camera and photographer, connect as one." Ian's splendid portfolio of Sedona and southwestern images illustrates the time and dedication he has invested in his art. He uses a large format 4x5 camera to insure extremely high quality prints. His Sedona photos "Moody Blues" and "Technicolor" are unbelievably rich in saturation and powerful in composition. They are by far my current favorite Sedona photos. "Moody Blues" is a wide panaoramic shot of the Dry Creek basin area looking back at town, probably taken from the edge of the Mogollon Rim in the Barney Pasture area. It highlights the deep green of the undulating forest lands contrasting the dark blue storm sky. It captures and represents one of those memorable essences that says "Sedona" .... a dark cloudy day's end with subtle moody lighting on the fabulous red sandstone. "Technicolor" is another magical panoramic that features the sunset Coconino sandstone geology of the Thunder Mountain (Old Grayback / Capitol Butte) region set against a dazzling yellow-orange sky. Quite simply, Ian is a new master.
