Susie Reed Photos

Award winning photographer Susie Reed does website, portrait, promotional, real estate and event photography. She shoots award ceremonies, fundraisers, parties and more. Her love of photographing Indian ruins, rock art and archeological sites prompted her to move to Sedona from the Bay Area in 2005. Susie Reed shoots on location, rather than setting up shots in a studio. She has a keen eye and way of making her subjects feel at ease that enables her to take insightful, flattering and effective pictures. She creates vibrant, richly colored images that jump off the page by using her expertise in Photoshop. “Beautiful” is the word most often used to describe this talented, versatile artist's work. Susie Reed has photographed entertainers, politicians, sports legends, CEOs and others including Walter Cronkite, Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Rice and the Grateful Dead. She's shot speakers, award ceremonies, cultural and fundraising events for the Common Wealth Club of San Francisco, the Pacific Orchid Expo, the Sausalito Art Festival and the Coconino National Forest, among others. Reed also licenses her photographs and sells fine art and stock photography.

"For me, photography is both a journey and an experience where light, land, camera and photographer, connect as one." Ian's splendid portfolio of Sedona and southwestern images illustrates the time and dedication he has invested in his art. He uses a large format 4x5 camera to insure extremely high quality prints. His Sedona photos "Moody Blues" and "Technicolor" are unbelievably rich in saturation and powerful in composition. They are by far my current favorite Sedona photos. "Moody Blues" is a wide panaoramic shot of the Dry Creek basin area looking back at town, probably taken from the edge of the Mogollon Rim in the Barney Pasture area. It highlights the deep green of the undulating forest lands contrasting the dark blue storm sky. It captures and represents one of those memorable essences that says "Sedona" .... a dark cloudy day's end with subtle moody lighting on the fabulous red sandstone. "Technicolor" is another magical panoramic that features the sunset Coconino sandstone geology of the Thunder Mountain (Old Grayback / Capitol Butte) region set against a dazzling yellow-orange sky. Quite simply, Ian is a new master.
