Ice Cream and Candy

Black Cow Café
Uptown
229 N. Hwy 89A
928.203.9868

Since 1998 this delightful little cafe has graced uptown with its great coffee, super malts and shakes, and home made ice cream cones topped with a variety of nuts or sweets rolled in by hand before serving. They make their own crunchy waffle cones daily insuring that wonderful, fresh crispness I really love in a cone.

Cold Stone Creamery
Above the “Y’ – The Shops at Pinon Point
101 N. Hwy 89A, Suite C-16
928.203.7700 – 928.274.0083

The Cold Stone Creamery is the ultimate ice cream experience. Their frozen ice cream cakes are truly one the finest desserts I have ever tasted. Watch out for the Cookie Dough Delirium or the Cookies & Creamery cakes. You will want more.

Dairy Queen
Oak Creek Canyon – 3 miles north on Hwy 89A
928.282.2789

Yep, home of the Brazier burger along with classic D.Q. ice cream. Great location in the heart of lower Oak Creek Canyon keeps this store hopping, especially on those hot summer swimmin’ days.

Sedona Fudge Company
Uptown
257 N. Hwy 89A
928.282.1044 – 800.845.3303
www.sedonafudge.com

The original Mackinac Island 1887 fudge recipe has powered this establishment since 1982. Virtually an institution, the Fudge Company is infectious with the smell of fresh fudge made on site daily wafting into uptown Sedona’s main street. My daughter Jamaica worked here 15 years ago and they still haven’t changed a bit. Did you know that fudge is a vegetable? Yep, cacao beans and sugar (made from sugar cane or beets) = vegetable! That’s why you can eat as much as you want and not feel guilty. As they say here, remember that “stressed” spelled backwards is “desserts”. If you find yourself getting stressed just stop on by.

Sedona Ice Cream Parlor
Village of Oak Creek – IGA Plaza
100 Verde Valley Road
928.284.5912

The original ice cream parlor in Sedona. It once stood uptown in the present location of the Black Cow Café. It was forced to move after many, many years in that location due to new owners of the property. Modern Sedona growth has seen a few casualties, however the Sedona Ice Cream Parlor rose again and is still and amazing place to enjoy the sweet taste of grand ice cream. Their hearty malts sustained me many times between tours when I was a Jeep guide and needed that push to finish a long, hot day.
