David And Rick's Sedona Dome Adventure
www.sedonadome.com

David and Rick show you how it was done. Not many domes are found in these parts, however anyone who has entered Sedona from the Interstate via Hwy 179 has seen the domes that look like eggs sitting next to the highway as you enter the Village of Oak Creek. Originally called Xanadu, this dome home is not purely wood-framed but rather involves foam blown over a form. A few more domes are sprinkled across the landscape out of town, particularly on Boynton Pass Road. This website takes you on a photographic journey, through all the construction stages, for a wood-framed dome in West Sedona. There are links to several descriptive articles mentioning this dome in national magazines such as "The New York Times" and "National Geographic Adventure Magazine". Great photos, a ton of them, can be viewed as a slide show in order to understand the determination and hard work these folks put into their project and to get an idea of what it takes should you have a hankering for the dome life.

“Home sweet dome”. Mason Rumney has spent over 15 years researching, prototyping, building, and living in domes. Domes have the potential to revolutionize the home building industry. Energy efficient, holistic, cost-efficient, and resistant to natural forces like hurricanes and earthquakes, domes may merely remind you of the 60’s, however they have just begun to take their place in a future that depends upon energy-efficiency and conscious design.
