I believe in the miraculous health benefits of colonics. It’s sad that most people have no accurate understanding of the colonic therapy process and instead harbor grave doubts concerning its safety and cleanliness. In the early days of Hollywood many film stars raved about the positive effects of colonic treatments. Until the late 1950’s doctors frequently prescribed colonics in conjunction with other medical treatment. It was considered a valuable aid in cleansing the body of toxins, purifying the blood, and restoring proper bowel health. Medical use and recommendation slowly faded over the years leaving colon hydrotherapy primarily to “health nuts” and yogis. Dr. Norman walker, nutrionist, raw food advocate, and father of the modern juice craze was a devote believer in colonic therapy. His books as well as Dr. Bernard Jensen’s series on colonic therapy helped rekindle the interest in colon cleansing and bowel health. Today there are clinics and schools specializing solely in this healthy method. My first colonic therapist, Phil Bergstein, moved from Sedona in the mid 1990’s and his departure spurred my hunt for a replacement. Virginia Tracy is that person. She uses the gravity-feed technique for water delivery while Phil used a pressurized water system. Both have their pros and cons, though I definitely prefer the gravity-feed method. It’s gentler and more forgiving of lapses in a therapist’s attention. I highly recommend Virginia’s calm approach and peaceful demeanor. Her skill has grown over the 8 years that I have been her client and it’s no exaggeration to say that she is a master practitioner. Do some reading on the subject if the process intrigues you or you have serious health problems and are open to a cure. Then take the leap. I’d say it took at least a dozen sessions to honestly note a measurable difference in my health and vitality. As a rule of thumb, practitioners believe that once you’ve matched the number of sessions you’ve completed with your numerical age, your colon will be restored an original healthy state equivalent to that of a young child. If that’s so, thanks to Virginia, I’m a kid again.
